NYC Marathon Giveaway: Official Rules
SOCKMOOSE NYC MARATHON PREDICTION CONTEST: OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Void where prohibited.
1. Sponsor. SockMoose LLC, 765 Pinehurst Court, Louisville, CO. Contact: hello@thesockmoose.com.
2. Eligibility. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC, age 18 or older. SockMoose owners, employees, and their immediate families are not eligible.
3. Entry period. Begins when the contest post is published on October 27, 2026 and ends October 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.
4. How to enter. Follow @thesockmoose on Instagram and comment on the contest post with your predicted Professional Open Division men’s winner and finishing time, women’s winner and finishing time, or both, for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon (November 1, 2026). Write times as H:MM:SS. Limit one pick per race per person. If a person posts more than one pick for the same race, only the earliest comment remaining on the post at the close of the entry period counts. Late entries are void. Wheelchair divisions are not part of this contest.
5. Prizes (awarded separately for the men’s race and the women’s race).
(a) Exact winner and exact finishing time (to the second): 12 pairs of SockMoose socks (approximate retail value up to $160).
(b) If no entrant qualifies under (a), the entrant who named the correct winner with the closest finishing time wins 6 pairs (approximate retail value up to $80). Closeness is the absolute difference between the predicted and official time, over or under.
(c) If no entrant names the correct winner, the entrant with the closest finishing time overall wins 6 pairs.
Ties are broken by earliest comment. One prize per race per person. Winners choose style (Ankle Tab or Crew), color, and size, subject to availability. No substitutions or cash value.
6. Official results. Results are based on the official results published by New York Road Runners as of 12:00 PM ET on November 2, 2026, to the second.
7. Winners. Winners will be notified by direct message from @thesockmoose by November 3, 2026. Winners must reply with a US shipping address within 72 hours or the prize is forfeited and awarded to the next eligible entrant under the same rules. SockMoose will never ask winners for payment or financial information.
8. General. By entering, you agree to these rules and that your Instagram handle may be announced publicly if you win. SockMoose may disqualify entries it believes are fraudulent or automated, and may modify or cancel the contest if the race is canceled or postponed or if circumstances outside its control require it. In the event of a conflict between these rules and any graphic or caption, these rules control. Governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
9. Not affiliated. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta. By entering, you release Instagram from any liability related to this promotion. SockMoose is not affiliated with or endorsed by New York Road Runners or the TCS New York City Marathon.
